How Binary Fusion Works in P4G

Normal Fusion (or Binary Fusion) involves combining two Personas to create a new one. The game follows three strict rules to determine the outcome:

  1. Arcana Determination: Every combination of two different Arcanas results in a specific third Arcana. For example, fusing a Fool and a Magician will always result in a Temperance Persona.
  2. Level Formula: The game calculates the average base level of the two ingredients: (Level A + Level B) / 2 + 1.
  3. The Selection Rule: The resulting Persona will be the one in the target Arcana whose base level is the closest higher level to the calculated result. If the result matches a base level exactly, that Persona is chosen.
Pro Tip: Social Link levels do not affect the base level used in the calculation, but they do provide massive EXP bonuses after the fusion is complete, often letting your new Persona level up several times instantly.
