How Ergonomic Heights are Calculated

The formulas are based on maintaining neutral body positions. A "Neutral Position" means your joints are naturally aligned, reducing stress on the muscles and tendons.

1. Sitting Desk Height Formula

Ideally, your elbows should be at a 90-degree angle when typing. We use the following ratio based on total stature:

DeskSit = Height × 0.41

2. Standing Desk Height Formula

When standing, the desk should be at the level of your resting elbows:

DeskStand = Height × 0.62

Key Factors for the Perfect Setup

  • The 90-Degree Rule: Your elbows, hips, and knees should all ideally form 90-degree angles.
  • Eye Level: The top third of your monitor should be at eye level. This prevents you from tilting your head up or down, which strains the cervical spine.
  • Feet Placement: Your feet must be flat on the floor. If your chair is too high to achieve this after adjusting for your desk, use a footrest.
